ARIA Awards 2025 Achieve Record Engagement Through Spotify Partnership

The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) has announced that the 2025 ARIA Awards achieved record-breaking public engagement, thanks in large part to a new partnership with Spotify. This collaboration led to over 696,000 public votes being cast across Spotify and the ARIA website, representing a more than 200% increase from the previous year.

The breakdown of votes includes 614,490 submitted via Spotify and 82,316 through the ARIA website, marking one of the strongest public voting turnouts in the awards’ 39-year history. Music fans were invited to vote in four categories: Song of the Year, Best Australian Live Act, Best Video, and Most Popular International Artist.

The Song of the Year category alone garnered 201,224 votes, while Best Australian Live Act and Best Video received 115,419 and 79,668 votes, respectively. ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd highlighted the significance of this achievement, stating:

“This year’s awards have shown just how powerfully Australians can rally around our artists when we deliver the right platform to celebrate their stories and profile their success.”

She emphasized that the partnership with Spotify has been a “game-changer for accessibility,” contributing to the substantial increase in public participation. In addition to the surge in public votes, the 2025 ARIA Awards also saw a record number of industry votes, with 14,998 combined votes across two rounds, and a record number of entries received, totaling 1,387. On social media, the awards drew 3.1 million TikTok views on ARIA’s account during Awards week, representing a 1,000% week-on-week increase, along with over 45,000 likes or reactions across ARIA’s social platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook.

The success of the 2025 ARIA Awards underscores the evolving landscape of music consumption and fan engagement, demonstrating the potential of strategic partnerships in amplifying the reach and impact of cultural events.
