Interpol has announced their eighth studio album, This Mirror Weighs a Ton, scheduled for release on August 28 through Partisan Records. This marks the band’s first album in four years and their debut with the label.

Recording in New York City After a Decade

The album was produced by Andrew Wyatt and mixed by David Fridmann. Recording took place in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, marking the first time in over a decade that Interpol has recorded in their hometown. This return to New York City is significant for the band, as it reconnects them with their roots.

Expanded Sonic Palette

This Mirror Weighs a Ton introduces an expanded sonic palette, incorporating strings, woodwinds, layered vocal harmonies, acoustic guitar, and experimental sound design. These elements are integrated with the band’s signature guitar-driven sound, offering a fresh yet familiar listening experience.

New Singles Released

Alongside the album announcement, Interpol has released two singles: the title track “This Mirror Weighs a Ton” and “See Out Loud.” These tracks provide a glimpse into the band’s evolving sound and thematic exploration in the upcoming album.

This Mirror Weighs a Ton is set to be released on August 28 via Partisan Records.
